Pure Air Experts use HEPA technology because it is proven time and time again that it is the most effective way to remove airborne particulates that can irritate the respiratory system and clog the home. Air quality has a direct effect on your well-being and quality of life. Therefore, Pure Air Experts wants to ensure your air is free of pollutants and irritants that can bring you down.

What is the History of HEPA Filter?
First, what does HEPA stand for? It stands for High efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters. They were first developed during the 1940s and used in the Manhattan Project which was chosen by the U.S. government because research showed that exposure to radiation was lethal, so they needed a way to protect the scientists from the spread of airborne radioactive particles. HEPA filters were the answer. After WWII, the technology was declassified and became available for commercial use and this is where HEPA become available to the public and to public companies.

If it is good enough for helping decrease the spread of radioactive particles, we feel it is certainly good enough for your home or business!

What is HEPA made of?
Filter mats are made of borosilicate fibers. These fibers are arranged so that they make a sheet. They are pleated to maximize surface area and offer the best filtration without taking up incredible amounts of space. When air flows through the filter mats, particles are trapped by the borosilicate fibers and removed from the airflow thus cleaning the air. The particles remain trapped in the filter as the clean air continues out of the filter. To be rated a HEPA filter, it must remove 99.97% of airborne particles .3 microns and larger.

Who uses HEPA filters?
Everyone! HEPA filters are the product of choice for many professional settings such as office buildings and hospitals. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention even advised that healthcare professionals should use portable HEPA air purifiers to help combat the 2009 swine flu epidemic. However, HEPA filters are not just for professional settings anymore. Portable HEPA air purifiers have become an effective way to reduce indoor pollutants in the home, and make it easy for anyone to use this effective system. No matter what you setting, you can benefit from the use of HEPA filtration systems.

HEPA filtration has a long and rich history of providing top notch filtration that can be used in almost any setting. Installing a HEPA filtration system in your business or home can be the first step towards your well-being and overall increased quality of living. Don’t settle for polluted and allergen filled air.

The Biggest Investment Of Your Life http://pureairexperts.com/the-biggest-investment-of-your-life/ http://pureairexperts.com/the-biggest-investment-of-your-life/#respond Sat, 12 Sep 2015 01:27:26 +0000 http://pureairexperts.com/?p=12146 By Jeff McArthur

It’s funny now, but looking back I thought the biggest investments in my life were my home, vehicles and the children’s education fund.

But after being diagnosed in early 2010 with a life threatening disease and battling kidney cancer, I truly know now that my health is the most important investment in my life. Not only is it the most critical thing for me, it also is to my loving wife and our two wonderful children. What would life be like without Dad being there for them? It makes me now understand what matters most in my life and how fortunate I am to have a second chance in this wonderful thing called ‘life’.

I had already been working in the indoor air quality business for over 20 years, but after my illness, I was even more determined to provide the public with the cleanest air possible. My wife also submerged herself into research and dedicated time and energy towards helping me battle my cancer and to develop more innovative ways for me to improve air quality for my clients.

Late last summer we opened the doors to ‘Pure Air Experts’, thanks to support of friends, family and a great partner that took a chance and believed in my vision. For many years with my other company, Parkland Furnace, I tested and developed our Pure Air Experts Program which came from my questioning the indoor air quality in our homes and offices using standard practices offered by myself and other companies for years. Having worked in this industry for such a long time I have seen it all when it comes to cleaning the air we breathe.

In 2005 I really started to investigate what was being offered in the indoor air quality industry. I have tested almost every air filtration system on the market and for many years in my own home (I have the power bills to prove it). I must say thank-you to the manufacturers that donated their products for my vigorous testing. After much trial, error and field-testing I found one air purifier (proudly made in Canada) that stood out and outperformed all the others. We also developed a program to go along with our #1 air purifier and a team that could accompany/support such a wonderful product.
The development of a new cleaner, healthier and safer furnace and duct cleaning service was also key for us. I know that standard duct cleaning systems can create more of a mess during the cleaning process so we make sure the job is done RIGHT the first time. Our ‘one of a kind’ services include indoor air quality testing followed by our cleaner, healthier duct cleaning service.

Testing is very important, so we can show you what you and your family are actually breathing in your home or workplace. We offer a wide variety of air testing from dust particulate, mold, bacteria, VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) radon and are now offering electromagnetic field testing. We are the first company in Canada to offer everything in one package – air quality testing, world’s best air purifiers, state of the art pure air duct cleaning service with professional installers and I guarantee the best customer service in the indoor air quality industry.

It’s time to start protecting your biggest investment – your health. I’ve done the hard part, developing the program that offers the best air quality money can buy, so you and your family can breathe the healthiest air possible in your home or business. All you need to do is decide to make your health your number one investment.

Office Air Quality http://pureairexperts.com/office-air-quality/ Fri, 11 Sep 2015 22:28:34 +0000 http://pureairexperts.com/?p=12113 We spend on average 40 hours a week in our offices. In that timeframe, we breathe in a lot of air. Consider that, according to recent studies by environmental groups in the US and Canada, office pollution is often at extremely high levels, much higher than at home, due to the presence of toxic dust. Long-term exposure to this kind of workplace pollution can cause significant problems, including developing asthma and allergies. Pure Air Experts helps building managers and business owners find solutions so you can feel confident that your office air is the healthiest air possible.

For example, beauty salons emit a lot of chemicals into the air as a result of hair and nail treatments. Both employees and clients are exposed to potential unhealthy air. But with Pure Air Expert’s innovative air purification methods, business owners and their customers can breathe easy.

Let the Pure Air Experts come into your workplace to help create a custom air quality plan specific to your needs. All workplaces should have proper ventilation and filtration. The most important advanced filtration technology on the market for workplaces is currently HEPA filtration systems and the Pure Air Experts can help you find the best system for your building.

Home Air Quality http://pureairexperts.com/home-air-quality/ Fri, 11 Sep 2015 22:18:37 +0000 http://pureairexperts.com/?p=12109 Home is where you and your family spend most of your time. You need the air you breathe in it to be the healthiest air possible. Pure Air Experts offers one-of-a-kind solutions to ensure your home’s air is fresh. Our custom services include working with small, unique spaces, such as apartments or condo units.

Many people don’t realize that our houses typically contain worse air than the air outside that we view as polluted. In fact, advances in modern construction are to blame. Modern construction techniques have created buildings that are almost air tight allowing nothing to escape, including household pollution. This means all the household pollutants and allergens that are brought into the home cannot escape. They will remain in the home until air filtration takes place.

Installing an air purification system into your home is the first step to a healthier home. Children have delicate immune and respiratory systems, an air purifier can help them avoid potential health problems, like asthma later on in life. Futhermore, the Centers for Disease Control have noted a 60% increase in cases of children’s asthma from 1980 to 2003. Most experts attribute this rise to worsening air quality. So what can you do as a parent to help give your child and family the best chance of combating these all-to-common ailments? A custom air assessment and custom air purification program from Pure Air Experts is exactly what you need.

Indoor Air Quality 101 http://pureairexperts.com/indoor-air-quality-101/ Fri, 11 Sep 2015 21:51:58 +0000 http://pureairexperts.com/?p=12105 We hear a lot about pollution in the atmosphere, such as car exhaust and smoke. But the average person may not realize all of the health issues caused by the pollution of indoor air.

Poor indoor air quality can cause or contribute to the development of chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma and hypersensitivity pneumonia. It can also cause headaches, dry eyes, nasal congestion, nausea and fatigue.

In today’s world, we inhale toxins on a regular basis and it’s almost impossible to eliminate. What you inhale has an immediate and profound effect on appetite, digestion, moods, depression, anxiety, irritability and sleep. Reducing the toxins that you breathe can have a very profound and dramatic impact on your health.

Pure Air Experts is in the business of ensuring that the air you breathe indoors is the purest air possible, whether it’s in your home or office. We offer innovative solutions to rid your air of harmful pollutants.

We believe in educating our clients about the risks of unhealthy air. Learn more about asthma, mesothelioma, and COPD, three common illnesses caused by unhealthy indoor air.

Home Air Quality
Home is where you and your family spend most of your time. You need the air you breathe in it to be the healthiest air possible.

Pure Air Experts offers one-of-a-kind solutions to ensure your home’s air is fresh. Our custom services include working with small, unique spaces, such as apartments or condo units.

Office Air Quality
We spend on average 40 hours a week in our offices. In that timeframe, we breathe in a lot of air.

Health and Air Quality
According to the EPA, indoor air quality is more hazardous than outdoor air, because indoor air pollution has a two-to-five times higher average Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) level than outdoor air. VOCs are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids, and include a variety of chemicals that have adverse health effects.

Even relatively low concentrations of air pollutants have been related to a range of adverse health effects, according to the World Health Organization. Pure Air Experts’ one-of-a-kind air purification system can make your indoor air fresh and clean, whatever the level of pollutants in the air.

Pure Air Experts has relationships with many environmental medicine doctors, and we use their knowledge and passion to develop methods that provide clean air for your home and office.

Did you know?

  • 9 out of 10 breaths we draw are likely drawn indoors: at school, the workplace, restaurants, movie theaters and home.
  • The average person breathes in 50,000 pollution particles a day, and takes 20,000 breaths a day.
  • The number of people with asthma continues to grow. One in 12 people (about 25 million, or 8% of the U.S. population) had asthma in 2009, compared with 1 in 14 (about 20 million, or 7%) in 2001.
  • COPD is projected to be the third leading cause of death by 2020 with only heart disease and cerebrovascular disease accounting for more deaths.

Asthma
Asthma is a chronic, long-term lung disease that inflames and narrows the airways. Asthma causes recurring periods of wheezing (a whistling sound when you breathe), chest tightness, shortness of breath, and coughing.

Healthy indoor air quality is an important way to manage asthma. Irritants like perfumes, tobacco, aerosol sprays, cleaning products, and fumes from paint or cooking gas can increase the risk of asthma attacks.

The number of people with asthma continues to grow. One in 12 people (about 25 million, or 8% of the U.S. population) had asthma in 2009, compared with 1 in 14 (about 20 million, or 7%) in 2001.

Mesothelioma
Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer that develops from transformed cells originating from the protective lining that covers many of the internal organs of the body. It is usually caused by exposure to asbestos.

Many building materials used in both public and domestic premises prior to the banning of asbestos in the 1980s may contain asbestos. Many homes built prior to the 1980s still have asbestos-containing structures.

Signs and symptoms of mesothelioma include shortness of breath or chest wall pain, and unexplained weight loss. Despite treatment with chemotherapy, radiation or surgery, the disease carries a poor prognosis.

About 3,000 new cases of mesothelioma are diagnosed each year in the United States.

COPD
COPD, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, is a progressive disease that makes it hard to breathe. “Progressive” means the disease gets worse over time. The primary cause of COPD is tobacco smoke, including second-hand or passive exposure.

Indoor air pollution is responsible for a greater fraction of COPD risk than smoking or outdoor air pollution, according to the World Health Organization. Other risk factors for COPD include occupational dusts and chemicals (such as vapors, irritants, and fumes) and frequent lower respiratory infections during childhood.

COPD is the third leading cause of death in America, claiming the lives of 124,477 Americans in 2007.
